Angus Kinnear exit on cards at Leeds United, American billionaires want him
Angus Kinnear could potentially leave Leeds United soon as American Billionaires want him at their club.
The Whites chief executive officer has steered the ship at Elland Road for several years now with mixed results.
Elland Road had great moments under Marcelo Bielsa, but the Peacocks were relegated back to the Championship after some underwhelming managerial appointments.
Premier League promotion looks realistic under Daniel Farke this season, with Kinnear playing a significant role in how effective the West Yorkshire outfit have been in the current campaign.
The Friedkin Group want Angus Kinnear at Everton from Leeds United
Everton have identified Kinnear as a key new appointment as they look to revamp their backroom staff, according to The Telegraph.
The news outlet reports (20 February) that the Whites’ CEO is the frontrunner as the American Billionaires who took over the Toffees in December look to make changes.
Kinnear is an experienced figure at Elland Road, having spent eight years at the Peacocks, and is the only senior figure to survive the San Francisco 49ers’ takeover in 2023.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues will be able to convince the 47-year-old to make a switch in the coming months.

Leeds United need to keep Angus Kinnear
While Farke may be upset that Kinnear didn’t reinforce the West Yorkshire outfit’s squad in the winter transfer window, it hasn’t affected them much.
The Whites sit at the top of the Championship with a two-point lead, which could be extended with a win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on 24 February.
As things stand, the Peacocks are seen as the favourites to win automatic promotion to the Premier League.
After the bitter disappointment of losing the play-offs final last season, Kinnear could have seemingly made the tough call to sack Farke but didn’t do so.
The decision to stick by the German manager has paid dividends in the current campaign, and the CEO evidently has had a role to play in their success.
Position | Team | Points |
1 | Leeds United | 72 |
2 | Sheffield United | 70 |
3 | Burnley | 65 |
4 | Sunderland | 62 |
While the West Yorkshire club could have done with more players before the 3 February deadline, several players have returned from their fitness issues, handing Farke more options.
Once again, it seems like the Whites made the right call not to spend valuable resources on new players in the winter window, hopefully leaving room for some major signings next summer.
Kinnear has been a pivotal figure for the Peacocks, and the 49ers Enterprises must do everything possible to keep him.
