Angus Kinnear email leaked at Leeds United on Tuesday to confirm Andrea Radrizzani agreement

An email sent by Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear confirming the departure of Victor Orta has been leaked on social media, as revealed by the Daily Mail.

The Whites confirmed Orta’s departure on Tuesday 2 May, with manager Javi Gracia also set to follow the sporting director out of West Yorkshire.

Leeds United are set to appoint Sam Allardyce as Gracia’s successor after advanced talks, but an email sent by Kinnear confirming the Orta departure and a behind-the-scenes agreement with majority owner Andrea Radrizzani was leaked on social media.

The email stated that Orta was the “architect” of the Whites’ promotion to the Premier League and that Kinnear had agreed with Radrizzani to call time on Orta’s tenure as the club’s sporting director after a disastrous spell of results, as reported by Daily Mail [2 May]

Wow

Wow, what a crazy couple of days it’s been at Leeds United as majority owner Radrizzani is already springing much change to turn around the fortunes of the football club who are well in a sorry state right now.

Whether it’s a sign of desperation or just pure common sense to get things going again at Elland Road remains of much debate but Radrizzani can certainly be considered brave for making such drastic changes with just four games of the season left to go, especially in the directors’ box.

If Leeds United do go on to secure their Premier League status for next season, the Italian businessman should be considered a genius but there’s a danger of things taking another dramatic turn which could leave his position in serious peril despite the 49ers enterprises takeover being imminent.

However, the Italian cannot be blamed for making such changes as the club are in a dangerous and terrible rut right now which didn’t seem like improving. Gracia’s tenure looked promising at some point but it’s all been a bit disastrous over the past few weeks. Can fireman Sam come to the rescue at Elland Road? We’ll certainly find out.

In other Leeds United news, other senior figures are now in line to be fired along with the manager after “emergency” talks.
