Angus Kinnear confirms two Elland Rd upgrades needed if Leeds secure PL promotion

Leeds United director Angus Kinnear has opened up on the upgrades needed at Elland Road should the Whites secure promotion to the Premier League.

The Premier League demand these upgrades, and Kinnear explained that the two most significant ones are floodlight specifications and the media facilities.

With nine games left to play, Leeds currently sit top of the Championship with a seven-point gap to Fulham in third.

Kinnear shared that there are hopes that Leeds would be given extra time to complete these upgrades if promotion is secured during these uncertain times.

“The Premier League demand upgrades in a number of areas,” he told LUFCTALK, as retweeted by reliable LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross.

“The most significant are floodlight specifications and media facilities. The plans for these are in place but we can only commence them once promotion is secured.

“I suspect due to the short window between the end of this season and the start of next we would be given some dispensation around the timings of these upgrades.”

There have been many suggestions that Elland Road would undergo serious upgrades should Leeds earn promotion to the Premier League.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay shared that Andrea Radrizzani is planning “dramatic” upgrades to the stadium, something which would give more fans the chance to attend home games.

The Whites are also looking to move from Thorp Arch to another state of the art training facility closer to the stadium as all eyes are firmly on the future.
