Ange Postecoglou to Leeds United verdict shared by Sky Sports pundit amid speculation as Celtic win trophy
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Ange Postecoglou would be high up on Paul Robinson’s list of potential Leeds United managers if Javi Gracia was let go in the summer.
There have been suggestions in Australia (Andy Maher told SEN’s The Run Home, 20 February) that Postecoglou could be open to moving to Elland Road.
Robinson believes any potential move for the 57-year-old will depend heavily on what league Leeds United find themselves in next season.

“I spoke before Jesse Marsch was sacked and suggested why not go and get him now. The problem that Leeds have had in the past is that they haven’t looked to make a statement and go and get somebody else’s manager – and get a manager that you want that you feel can do the job,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“They haven’t done that and I think it was very hard to do that with Postecoglou considering where Celtic are at and the opportunity to go and win trophies but the draw coming south of the border will always be there.
“However, the prospect of Champions League football at Celtic is a reality for him and as far as Leeds go, I don’t think they’ll be looking at a manager of that calibre if they’re in the Championship.

“It’s very much dependent on what league they are in next year. I don’t think they can consider managerial targets until they know what league they will be in.
“It’s a very different type of manager that you need to get you out of the Championship to one that’s going to keep you in the Premier League.
“If they are in the Premier League, then Postecoglou would certainly be up there on the list for me after what he’s done at Celtic.”
Postecoglou led Celtic to Scottish League Cup glory on Sunday (26 February) as the Bhoys won 2-1 against Rangers at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
In other Leeds United news, the club are now leading the race to sign an in-demand young attacking talent from a European giant.
