Andy Gray slams Leeds United player for what he did in Leeds United loss vs Tottenham

Leeds’ year-long unbeaten record at Elland Road has come to an end.

Tottenham beat Leeds 2-1 in the Saturday early kick-off, but a positive performance overall softened the blow.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s struggles in front of goal continued, as Daniel Farke‘s side squandered numerous opportunities to avoid the defeat.

The game between Farke and Thomas Frank didn’t come without controversy, as Noah Okafor‘s equaliser raised a few eyebrows.

The referee had fingers pointed at him throughout the game, but the United players could’ve done more themselves.

Andy Gray convinced Karl Darlow should’ve done better

Mathys Tel scored in the 23rd minute, his shot taking a deflection before finding the back of the net.

Andy Gray doesn’t have any sympathy for Darlow in goal, speaking on beIN SPORTS, he said: “Without a deflection he saves it easily, but still, his reactions were poor.

Leeds limited Spurs to just 0.52xG according to Sofascore, and two deflected goals have to leave a sour taste in the mouths of the Elland Road faithful.

Lucas Perri may have been handed a boost as Farke still decides who Leeds’ number one will be.

Karl Darlow and Lucas Perri battle it out

Leeds have completely moved on from Illan Meslier, signing Perri from Lyon in the summer to compete with Darlow.

Perri got the nod for the entirety of August’s Premier League games but after picking up an injury, Darlow has claimed the spot.

Darlow has the superior save percentage of 67% while Perri’s shocking 38% gives his competition the upper hand.

The Brazilian shot stopper has also let in 1.99 more goals than he is expected to have according to Sofascore but the 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal has misconstrued his numbers slightly.

Darlow will be looking to pick himself up after two relatively unfortunate goals flew past him this weekend.
