Jose Mourinho to Leeds United mooted as ‘Amazing’ statement emerges
Jose Mourinho currently sits second in the Turkish Super Lig with Fenerbahce after Sunday’s 3-1 win at Sivasspor.
Meanwhile, Daniel Farke has guided Leeds United to the top of the Championship with just four games left to play as the Whites close in on automatic promotion.
The West Yorkshire giants can strengthen their grip on a place in next season’s Premier League with a win over Oxford on Friday.
Farke and Co then host Stoke on Easter Monday, and should fancy their chances of beating a Potters side who, like Oxford, are yet to secure Championship safety.

Andy Goldstein jokes about Mourinho joining Leeds United
Farke is on the brink of guiding the Whites to the Premier League in his second season in the Elland Road dugout, but that hasn’t stopped questions over his future.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [17 April, 16:44], Andy Goldstein joked about the prospect of Mourinho moving to West Yorkshire: “No one likes Leeds, and no one likes Mourinho.
“Wouldn’t it be amazing?”
Farke deserves a shot in the Premier League with Leeds
While Goldstein was only joking about the prospect of Farke being replaced by Mourinho at Leeds, the German’s Premier League credentials have been brought into question.
Championship table (top three) | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
1 Leeds | 42 | 53 | 88 |
2 Burnley | 42 | 44 | 88 |
3 Sheffield Utd | 42 | 24 | 83 |
The Whites’ boss twice guided former club Norwich City to the Championship title in 2019 and 2021, but after guiding the Canaries to second-tier glory, he could only finish bottom in the 2020 top flight.
After struggling in the Premier League once more after winning his second Championship title, Farke was sacked by the Carrow Road club in November 2021.
However, the resources the German will have at his disposal with Leeds in the top tier are greater than those of Norwich, while the Whites are already plotting transfers ahead of next season, such as the potential addition of Japanese midfielder Hidemasa Morita.
After steering the Whites agonisingly close to promotion last term, Farke now looks set to guide the Elland Road club to the Premier League this time around, and should be handed his opportunity to manage the West Yorkshire giants in the top flight.
