Andrea Radrizzani set to meet Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear on Wednesday as Leeds United close in on new manager

Leeds United owner and chairman Andrea Radrizzani will reportedly be flying into the United Kingdom ahead of the Manchester United clash.

The Whites face their arch rivals on Wednesday, 8 February and Radrizzani will be meeting Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear ahead of the game.

Leeds are close to appointing a new manager and Radrizzani said that it could be done by Wednesday as well as the club are conducting a series of interviews.

Via Twitter, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Donnohue wrote, “Andrea Radrizzani believes #LUFC are close to appointing a new head coach by ‘tonight or tomorrow morning’ when he is due to arrive in the UK. Although, we’ve been here before with the chairman teasing arrivals on Twitter.

“To clarify, it is Radrizzani who is flying in. Will meet Orta and Kinnear before tomorrow’s game.”

Get it done

Carlos Corberan is out of the running after he signed a new deal at West Brom and in a way it’s a good thing.

His only experience of managing a top-flight club was in Greece and his time at Olympiakos can only be described as a failure.

It’s best for him to test his mettle in the Championship for a while and if he’s good enough, he can get them promoted to the Premier League.

Leeds United

Leeds need an established top-flight coach with a fixed style of football and it remains to be seen who ends up being the chosen one.

Marcelo Bielsa and Mauricio Pochettino are both high-profile names that are unlikely to move to Elland Road this month.

This could see them going for Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola and given what he’s doing in La Liga this season, it’s not an appointment we’re against.
