Andrea Radrizzani present at Leeds United 3-2 defeat v Chelsea in FA Cup 5th round
Former Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani was present at Stamford Bridge for the club’s 3-2 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup, according to Club Doria 46.
Writing on their website (1 March), the Italian news outlet report that the current Sampdoria owner was in London to watch his former club for the first time since completing a deal to sell to the 49ers Enterprises during the summer.
His visit to the capital was nothing to do with the club however other than watching from the stands, with Radrizzani in London for a new business venture with soon-to-be ex-Club Brugge CEO Vincent Mannaert in a football brokerage company.
Andrea Radrizzani can see what he is missing at Leeds United
While things at Elland Road between Leeds and Radrizzani ended badly and with a sour taste in the mouth after relegation, there is no doubt he did a good job for the majority of his tenure.
It was under him that the club got back to the Premier League to begin with and managed to attract Marcelo Bielsa despite being in the second-tier, and also stayed in the top flight in their first season back.
Radrizzani was never afraid to spend money to help the club, but ultimately he listened to the wrong people and things went south before the fans turned and his relationship with them was irreparable.

A parting of ways in the summer made the most sense for all parties, and the Whites are clearly benefitting from that with the 49ers leading a new era at Elland Road that is currently looking like an immediate return to the top flight.
He can see the fruits of his labour blossoming under new ownership and the club is happier without him. This is his loss and is his own fault because he could have been part of this excellent moment in the club’s history.
