Radrizzani issues advice to Leeds United board after Premier League promotion
Leeds United have a big summer ahead after clinching the Championship title and winning promotion to the Premier League.
Chairman Paraag Marathe has backed Daniel Farke to remain as Whites boss despite the previous speculation surrounding his future at Elland Road.
But Leeds will now have to add quality to their ranks in the summer window as they prepare to achieve Premier League survival.
Farke’s previous top-flight record leaves a lot to be desired, and owners 49ers Enterprises will have to back the German in the transfer market.

Radrizzani offers Leeds United board transfer advice
Former Whites owner Andrea Radrizzani remains an unpopular figure in West Yorkshire after overseeing the Elland Road club’s relegation from the Premier League to the Championship in 2023.
Opponent | Result |
Stoke (H) | 6-0 W |
Bristol City (H) | 4-0 W |
Plymouth (A) | 1-2 W |
But he has handed the 49ers transfer advice ahead of next season’s Premier League campaign.
He told Sky Sports News in an exclusive interview [6 May, 7:33am]: “It requires investment, requires a new project, requires a football transition in some cases, revolution in the squad and sometimes when you do the recruitment, you can work very well.
“Other times not [so well]. So that’s also what we paid in the moment we made the transition from Marcelo [Bielsa] to Jesse Marsch – we changed.
“I remember we sold two players, we bought seven, and, unfortunately, this was not successful for us. The same is when you come from the Championship to the Premier League – the challenge is very big.
“In our case, I think the mistake I’ve done and we have done is with the management is that we didn’t hire enough players with maturity and experience in the Premier League, but we bet on players with high quality and no experience in the Premier League.”

Leeds will find Radrizzani‘s comments ironic
The former Whites owner deserves credit for the fact that Leeds won promotion to the Premier League under his watch in 2020, and went on to finish ninth in the top flight in 2021.
However, after finishing in the Premier League’s top half, Radrizzani subsequently oversaw a big decline at Elland Road, as the West Yorkshire giants finished 17th in 2022, avoiding relegation by just three points.
Then, by 2023, Leeds supporters’ worst fears unravelled as the Whites suffered relegation back to the Championship after winning just seven top-flight fixtures.
While it is obvious that the 49ers must recruit wisely this summer in preparation for next season’s Premier League, fans will find it ironic that Radrizzani has dished out advice to the current Whites owners.
The Italian failed to oversee a long-term Premier League stint at Elland Road, whereas Marathe is intent on keeping the West Yorkshire giants in the top flight for the foreseeable future.
