Andrea Radrizzani makes ill-advised Leeds United move ahead of Bournemouth clash - Phil Hay

Andrea Radrizzani made the ill-advised move to send a message to Leeds United fans after the win at Liverpool, according to Phil Hay.

The majority owner broke his silence on Twitter, admitting his club were not champions this week but weren’t rubbish the previous week either in support of Jesse Marsch.

Leeds now face a huge clash with Bournemouth at Elland Road, with Hay insisting the talking needs to be left to the pitch, rather than pointless words off it.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Phil Hay Show podcast on Monday 31st October, the journalist was not left impressed with the majority owner.

“I think also, not to obscure the fact that there is a very, very big game coming up against Bournemouth this weekend,” he said. “A game that Leeds will be expected to win and should win and need to win.

“If they don’t and they have a bad day at Elland Road, then these things are there as sticks to beat you with. I just don’t think it’s particularly helpful at all, I feel as if the attention at Leeds, more than ever, needs to be on the pitch, on the players, and on the head coach.

“Ill-advised I would have said.”

Not needed.

Radrizzani does have a tendency to make things all about himself, but right now was the moment for him to either deliver concrete updates or stay out of it.

We have heard nothing official regarding the future of Marsch, especially as the pressure hit overdrive before that trip to Liverpool, where he masterminded a huge three points.

Instead, we get these little messages from the owner, which mean little to nothing in the grand scheme of things but he thinks are massive for the fan base.

We have been here before, and all that needs to be focused on is that game with Bournemouth and making it six points from six in the Premier League.

There is breathing space right now at Elland Road with fewer people talking about the club, and more importantly the future of Marsch, but that only proves how quickly one result can change things.

Let’s hope we’re on our way to another three points.
