Andrea Radrizzani frustrated as Andoni Iraola must pay up to take Leeds United job

Rayo Vallecano boss Andoni Iraola has been left with the only option of paying up his own contract if he wants to take over at Leeds United, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the Spaniard has been blocked from making the move to Elland Road to replace Jesse Marsch.

Leeds are said to be desperate to appoint Iraola, with the other two options now said to be Feyenoord boss Arne Slot and Nuno Espirito Santo.

Andrea Radrizzani has been left increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress made on the appointment after his own public reveal that the white smoke was close.

Leeds know that Iraola taking this bold move to pay out his own contract is unlikely, meaning other options are now being considered more in West Yorkshire.

Frustrations.

This is building everywhere.

Not only is Radrizzani seemingly angered, but the fans are seeing their patience wear thin, something that is not likely being helped by the Italian’s actions on social media this week.

Iraola appears to be a distant dream now for the Leeds board, who may need to put their eggs in the basket of Slot at Feyenoord if they want one of their other big targets.

Victor Orta has been to Madrid and failed it seems, and he was spotted in Manchester airport on Thursday 09 February amid claims he is on his way to Amsterdam for talks over Slot [Daily Mail].

Attacking football is on the cards with the names mentioned, with Slot’s Feyenoord taking 50 shots in their last outing, something that is nearly unheard of in 90 minutes.

Leeds need to make progress soon if they want their new man at Elland Road for the huge reverse tie with Manchester United on Sunday, as the clock is ticking very quickly.
