Andrea Radrizzani finds out about Mateusz Klich sneaking to Leeds United game v Cardiff City

Andrea Radrizzani has revealed he was unaware Mateusz Klich was attending the FA Cup clash between Leeds United and Cardiff City on Wednesday.

LUFCFANZONE reported (Twitter, 18 January) that the former Leeds midfielder wanted to go “incognito” to the game with Leeds not aware of his attendance at the fixture.

Radrizzani has since responded saying he is “glad” to have found out about Klich’s Elland Road presence, with the 32-year-old set to receive his final Elland Road farewell.

“True! Glad we found out so he can have a proper farewell moment at Elland Road, well deserved,” wrote Radrizzani (via Twitter, 18 January).

Legend

Klich will leave Elland Road as a modern-day legend of the club and it’s fitting that he will be given a proper send-off by the fans before he moves to the MLS. It’s good that those close to the 32-year-old midfielder felt it was right to notify the club about his attendance.

He played a huge part in Leeds getting back into the Premier League and his previous goodbye after the West Ham United game didn’t feel befitting. From a footballing perspective, Klich will be hard to replace for Leeds. Jesse Marsch was eager to keep him at the club and it’s understandable to see why.

The Poland international offered Leeds a more attacking option in midfield, as opposed to the dynamism and full-blooded play of Tyler Adams – and the American will potentially be looking to land a replacement before the January window slams shut.

Klich will depart on a high and it will not be a surprise to see the Polish midfielder go on to be a success for Wayne Rooney’s DC United in the coming months.
