Andrea Radrizzani finances tight at Leeds United ahead of January transfer window

Finances at Leeds United are now tight under the ownership of Andrea Radrizzani, as he prepares to relinquish control to the 49ers according to Mail+.

The Whites owner has openly admitted that he expects to sell the club in before 2024, with the 49ers group already securing funding to complete the deal.

But ahead of the January transfer window, with the club keen to sign a left-back and a striker, it seems the purse strings may have been tightened by the outgoing man with finances now described as “tight” at Elland Road.

“Unlike at Newcastle, finances are tight at Leeds under the ownership of Italian Andrea Radrizzani, who confirmed this week he will relinquish control to American football franchise San Francisco 49ers in the coming months,” they wrote.

“But March believes that what the Whites currently lack in wealth, they make up for in other areas.”

Uh oh

If Radrizzani is going to withhold cash from the club because he’s already planning his exit, then Leeds could be in for a troublesome January transfer window.

The squad needs to be bolstered undoubtedly during the winter window, with the club terrifyingly close to the relegation zone having only narrowly escaped the drop last season on the final day.

Jesse Marsch has openly admitted what it is that he feels he needs to be stronger in the rest of the campaign, but if he isn’t backed by the board then it will be difficult to see how we progress through and avoid another relegation battle.

We need people at the top of the club to be really committed otherwise that will trickle down to the players and the rest of the season will be a slog.

Radrizzani has done plenty of good things for us since joining, and he needs to continue that until the day he is no longer in power or we face big problems.
