Andrea Radrizzani considers £882m Inter Milan bid as Leeds United takeover view shared

Andrea Radrizzani, the current majority owner of Leeds United is considering a €1billion (£882m) takeover of Inter Milan, according to a Bloomberg report.

Radrizzani’s Aser Ventures is said to have competition in the bid to acquire the Nerazzurri, with Bahrain-based Investcorp also an interested party, an unnamed source revealed to them.

Any potential purchase of Inter by Aser would be dependent on the anticipated sale of Leeds to 49ers Enterprises, if they stay in the Premier League.

There is plenty at stake in more ways than one, on and off the pitch in West Yorkshire as in Milan, the birthplace of Radrizzani.

The Bloomberg report stated that the Whites Premier League status would have a bearing on developments as well as providing further info on the background to the proposed deal.

“Representatives for Aser, Investcorp and Inter Milan declined to comment on the offers.”

“Newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore has reported that Investcorp is looking to put together a group of Bahraini investors to purchase Inter, which has been struggling with debt, rising salaries for players and lower broadcast revenue in Italy compared with the Premier League.”

Maximising the return

Whilst Leeds are striving for Premier League survival, Inter are in a battle of their own to secure a Champions League spot for next season. Simone Inzaghi’s team is currently fifth in the table, just one point behind city rivals AC Milan in fourth.

Radrizzani will have ambitions on both of those aims as it represents the most attractive standing, respectively, for the clubs.

Crucially, if Leeds head coach Javi Gracia can steer his squad to a top-flight reprieve then the Italian supremo can maximise his return from the 49ers, who are waiting to takeover in full.

The Elland Road chief was previously linked with Salernitana back in 2021 but a purchase of the Campania club never materialised, now he could be set for one of the traditional giants of Serie A.

If nothing else, this update will keep Aser and Radrizzani in the headlines and prominence back in his homeland as he prepares for eventual life beyond Leeds.

In other Leeds news, the Whites can correct a two-year-old mistake by finally swapping this starlet for veteran.
