Andoni Iraola tips Luis Sinisterra to be ‘difference-maker’ at Bournemouth, Leeds United loanee ‘very good’
Leeds United loanee Luis Sinisterra can be a “difference-maker” at Bournemouth, according to their manager Andoni Iraola.
The winger joined the Cherries on a season-long loan in September, with Jaidon Anthony moving in the other direction.
Sinisterra has played just 48 minutes for his temporary club, appearing as a substitute against both Chelsea and Arsenal.
“He is very good, especially offensively, he is a difference-maker,” Iraola told the Daily Echo (3 October). “We need him.
“I think Luis has proven his level in England and the Premier League. He has the speed also to attack the depth. So I think mostly we will start at least thinking that he can play on the left.”
Big season ahead
Sinisterra has not really got going on the south coast thus far, with Cherries boss Iraola easing him into life at his new club.
That is an understandable approach, both given the new surroundings but also given the fact the winger was limited to just 19 Premier League appearances last season due to various injuries.
Leeds fans will perhaps still be wondering how different the campaign could have gone if the Colombian had stayed fit, with the attacker undoubtedly one of the club’s standout players last time out.
He scored seven goals in all competitions last season, and often stood up and was counted for when his fellow attackers faded away.
The 24-year-old now has his career on the line at Bournemouth, and will undoubtedly want to impress enough to convince the Cherries that he can still cut it in the Premier League.
The club meanwhile will want him to be on top form after their miserable start to the season, with Bournemouth currently sitting in the relegation zone.
In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke is “totally convinced” that one “unbelievable” Whites player can improve.
