American media react to Sam Allardyce footage at Leeds United, it is unbelievable
New Leeds United head coach Sam Allardyce has created an “unbelievable” reaction in the United States, as featured on CBS Sports Galazo.
The veteran boss caused a stir with his comments stating that he was as good as anyone in management in the Premier League, as he was unveiled as Javi Gracia’s replacement on Wednesday.
Big Sam faces a mammoth challenge in the first of four remaining games to save the Whites’ top-flight status, away to Manchester City on Saturday.

His remarks at the press conference were typical Allardyce, bold as brass, but maybe not as familiar to a US audience. The CBS panel could not believe what they were hearing, as expressed by Susannah Collins.
“I mean, Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta. And Sam Allardyce. It’s the same people, right,” she stated. “It’s unbelievable, I love it. I love the confidence.”
Charlie Davies did not share the same reaction: “There’s confidence, then there’s delusion.”

Fight to the end
Allardyce’s outspoken comments [BBC] will have been tongue-in-cheek to an extent, as well as having other motivations.
He will have intentionally shown his passion to get a response from his new squad as well as to rally the supporters.
The claims have turned the spotlight on him, rather than on the players who desperately need to respond after a run of wretched form whilst the Elland Road faithful will see that they now have a leader who will fight to the end, with them, whatever the outcome.
The 68-year-old will also have wanted to show that he still has fire in his belly, that he can still cut it in the Premier League, with one eye on possibilities next season if he can pull off a great escape for Leeds.
He spoke of being written off as old and antiquated in age and his methods but now he has to silence his critics with results.
