American media blast Leeds United star Aaronson after what he did v Switzerland
Brenden Aaronson had a miserable evening as the United States were beaten 4-0 by Switzerland.
Mauricio Pochettino‘s side were hammered by the European nation in the friendly just one year before they host the World Cup.
The Americans conceded four goals in the first 45 minutes in an embarrassing display to fall to their fourth loss in four matches.

Aaronson slammed after miserable display away from Leeds
The Elland Road ace started the contest but was hooked after 45 minutes as the former Tottenham manager made sweeping changes.
He failed to influence the contest, taking just 18 touches before Pochettino decided that he had seen enough.
GOAL handed him a 4/10 rating, saying: “Ran plenty, but never really got a foothold in the game. Attempted just eight passes in his 45 minutes on the field.”
NBC Sports also gave him a 4/10, saying: “Touched the ball just 18 times, as did his brother.”
USA Today handed him a 4.5 rating, saying: “Had some promising attacking moments in an active start to the match, but saw his influence completely wane over the course of the first half. Only managed 18 touches and seven of eight passes before he was withdrawn at halftime.”
Sporting News awarded the Whites star a 5/10, saying: “Looked bright early on as he played on the left wing, combining with Sebastian Berhalter and Max Arfsten well. Like his brother, however (Paxton Aaronson), he faded quickly and boasted just 18 total touches through the first 45 minutes, plus zero defensive actions and zero duels won out of four contested. A non-factor.”

Leeds could move on from Aaronson this summer
Aaronson endured an underwhelming campaign despite helping Daniel Farke‘s side to promotion last season.
Many observers felt that in such a dominant team, an attacking midfielder should have been able to put up better numbers than he managed.
The American notched nine goals and two assists in 46 Championship matches but there are concerns about his ability to perform in the Premier League.
In his last season in the top-flight in the 2022-23 campaign, he only managed one goal and three assists in 36 matches and there is no evidence to suggest that he can improve on that.
The Peacocks have been linked with moves for Emi Buendia and former Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, which suggests that they plan to upgrade on the former Philadelphia Union man.
The Whites need a number 10 that can contribute regularly to help their survival bid and it does not seem like Aaronson is the right man for the job.
His latest display for the national team will do very little to convince Farke that he can turn his fortunes around and he could decide to move on, if he is not guaranteed to start, as it is World Cup year.
An exit would probably work for both parties, as the Peacocks could use the money to reinvest in other areas of the squad.
