Amari Miller misses pre-season trip, set to complete Leeds switch
Leeds United are set to complete their move for Birmingham City sensation Amari Miller.
The young attacker has missed the Blues’ pre-season trip to Scotland, and will instead completed his switch to Elland Road.
Mike McGrath has shared the update on Sunday, with Spurs, Everton and Southampton all interested too.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, the Telegraph journalist has shared the major update ahead of the signing.
“Amari Miller not part of Birmingham’s pre-season trip to Scotland, ahead of move to Leeds,” he said.
“Spurs, Everton and Southampton have been tracking teenage striker who broke into first team last season.”
First deal done?
It looks as though Miller will be the first face through the door at Elland Road, and will likely go straight into the academy.
The young striker will join up with the under-23s in the annual influx of academy signings, following the likes of Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt in recent years.
Mark Jackson will have some serious talent on his hands next season, and this will likely open the door to the likes of Gelhardt to secure his spot in the first team.
Miller gained valuable experience at St Andrew’s last season in the Championship and can play across the front three.
Given that the likes of Spurs and Everton were interested, the Whites look to have won the race for a serious talent.
Could the announcement happen soon? This is one to keep an eye on throughout this week.
