Ally McCoist predicts result of Leeds United playoff clash v Southampton live on talkSPORT
Leeds United will make an immediate return to the Premier League with a shootout win over Southampton at Wembley, according to Ally McCoist.
Daniel Farke’s Whites face Russell Martin’s Saints in the capital on Sunday (26 May) as they look to build upon their impressive win over Norwich City at Elland Road last time out and win promotion to the top flight.
Although Southampton have managed to get the better of Leeds twice already this season, talkSPORT pundit McCoist has refused to sit on the fence and tipped Farke and his side to get the job done.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (20 May, 8:05) he said: “I think that one is going to go all the way and I’m taking Leeds to win on penalties.
“How is that for completely not sitting on the fence, I think that is going to be a great game.”

While Leeds United supporters will hope that their side can get through Sunday’s game in any way possible, they will be hoping that the Whites do not have to go through 120 minutes and penalties to come out on top.
The two sides have been close throughout the campaign and that has been demonstrated over the course of the season, particularly when they have met with very little to split them, barring the final day at Elland Road.
If Leeds get anywhere near the standard that they showed against Norwich last time out, they will blow the Saints out of the water. When their attack is playing in that manner, there isn’t a defence in the Championship that can handle them.
Hopefully, they show up at Wembley when it is required. Too often in recent weeks, the Whites have failed to turn up for the biggest and more high-pressure games and Farke will be looking to break that trend come Sunday.
