Ally McCoist predicts Leeds United ‘struggle’ after what he’s seen
Leeds United will “struggle” in the Premier League after what was on show as they drew against Burnley at Turf Moor, Ally McCoist says.
The talkSPORT pundit isn’t confident about the Whites’ prospects if they go up after their performance in the 0-0 draw on Monday (27 January).
McCoist has predicted both the Peacocks and Burnley will face issues if they do win promotion to the English top flight this season.
Speaking on talkSPORT (28 January, 6:07am), the Scotsman said: “On the evidence of what I saw last night, you’d say both teams would struggle in the top flight.”
Leeds United play out boring draw v Burnley in the Championship
Daniel Farke had a few of his regular starters missing ahead of kickoff at Turf Moor, and it wasn’t surprising to see the West Yorkshire outfit struggle.
Pascal Struijk is on the sidelines after picking up an injury, with Junior Firpo and Joe Rothwell not featuring off the bench against the Clarets.
Turf Moor is evidently a tough place to go to, but the Elland Road faithful will be worried that their team couldn’t create enough opportunities.
Leeds United have relied on Joel Piroe to find the back of the net this season, and when he doesn’t, there are hardly any other players who step up.

Mateo Joseph was given another outing against Burnley, but the Spanish youngster failed to make much of an impact off the bench.
Patrick Bamford is another player who has been underwhelming this season and is currently injured.
The Whites still have a two-point lead at the top of the Championship and will hope to maintain their advantage as they face Cardiff City on 1 February.
In other Leeds United news, a transfer update has emerged regarding goalkeeper Conan Ledesma.
