Ally McCoist feels sorry for Daniel Farke after what he’s heard about Leeds sack – ‘Really unfair’

Ally McCoist has gone against the majority of Leeds United fans who are asking for Daniel Farke to be sacked.

After Leeds’ 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday, Farke’s days now seem numbered as the 49ers have a big decision to make.

Farke is under growing pressure at Leeds, as questions have been raised about the head coach’s ability to keep the Whites in the Premier League.

Leeds are now tipped for relegation following their defeat at the City Ground, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to see how Farke can turn things around.

However, McCoist thinks Leeds need to be patient.

Ally McCoist says he would stick with Daniel Farke

Leeds made a bright start to their Premier League return, but they have since lost four of their past five matches.

The Whites seem to be reliant on Elland Road as a fortress that can help them stay in England’s top flight, as most of the points won have come on their own patch this season.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday morning, McCoist called Farke’s treatment – particularly over the summer – “really unfair” and said he would back the German if it were his decision.

McCoist said: “Leeds are drifting into an area where I thought they might be. In my opinion, I’m sticking with Farke. I’ve got a great degree of sympathy for him.

People were saying after Farke got them promoted that he wasn’t the man to lead them in the top flight, which I thought was really unfair.”

Leeds spent over £100million, but you wouldn’t think it by looking at performances on the pitch, as the blame can be shared with the 49ers.

Farke has been let down by bad recruitment at Leeds

Paraag Marathe may very well decide to sack Farke in the near future, as Leeds have a difficult period of fixtures coming up.

The reality is that anyone walking through the doors at LS11 would inherit the same squad Farke has now.

Leeds are set for an uphill battle in the January transfer window, as they may have to sell players before they can buy more.

Sunderland also splashed over £100m, and while spending slightly more than the Whites, their recruitment model seems to have paid off with results on the pitch.

Farke simply can’t be entirely blamed for the mess that the Whites currently find themselves in.
