Ally McCoist backs Leeds United to be safe with win v Crystal Palace
Ally McCoist believes a win for Leeds United against Crystal Palace will be enough to secure their Premier League safety after results over the weekend.
Leeds can move seven points clear of the relegation zone with five games to go with a victory at Selhurst Park, following Everton’s defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
McCoist, who was speaking on talkSPORT’s breakfast show [April 25, 8:27], believes it’s a ‘massive’ game for their season and if they lose it could put them right back into danger.

“Massive game for Leeds tonight,” he said.
“If they get a result tonight then you’d probably say they’re out of it. If they don’t get a result then they’re right in there.”
The Whites won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Elland Road thanks to a 94th minute penalty, so more of that would be very welcome.
Huge
Leeds’ season has been a rollercoaster ride and a half, but there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel under Jesse Marsch.
A win over Palace, who don’t have much to play for other than pride this season having already secured their own safety, would create a big gap between themselves and the bottom three.

But their next three games are against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea so there is a very real possibility that they can get dragged back into a dog fight.
They need the gap to be as big as possible before that run of games, because the likelihood of Everton and Burnley being able to take complete advantage of that is slim.
But they must do their own jobs first and after a 16 day break, they should be well rested and in great shape to turn up in south London and put together a performance that can earn them a result.
