Ally McCoist and Laura Woods criticise camera decision over Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford
Ally McCoist and Laura Woods have criticised the decision to pan in on Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford after Harry Kane scored for England on Sunday.
Bamford, 28, made his international debut against Andorra at Wembley, starting the game but failing to score before being substituted for Kane on 62 minutes.
Kane scored England’s second in a 4-0 win and after his successful spot-kick, the camera cut to Bamford on the bench.

Speaking on talkSPORT [05/09/21], McCoist and Woods hit out at the decision.
McCoist said: “That was a bit harsh wasn’t it?”
Woods replied: “Yeah, I thought so as well because I thought ‘it’s rubbing it in a little bit there’ but obviously, as always, he was really smiley and supportive.”
McCoist: “He did fine, he did absolutely fine. He warranted and deserved his opportunity, in my opinion. Being an ex-centre-forward I probably know how he feels, there will be a tinge of disappointment that he didn’t score.
“He’ll have gone into that game thinking ‘wow, I’ve deserved my opportunity, I’ve got my opportunity and I want a couple of goals here’.
“At the same time, absolutely fine, he’s warranted his selection.
“But if you’re going to be honest, I don’t care what anyone says, there will be a little bit of disappointment that he didn’t score.”
Woods: “Definitely.”

Strange
It was a pretty desperate attempt by the camera operators to pour scorn over Bamford’s performance against Andorra.
The Whites centre-forward harried their backline and made some clever movements in behind their defence but ultimately was not found by his teammates.
However, he did a lot of the early running that allowed Kane and co to profit from tired Andorra legs in the second half.
Kane scoring a penalty certainly doesn’t warrant turning the camera onto Bamford as if to say ‘that’s what you should have done, how do you feel now’.
It was pretty bizarre, but that’s not something Bamford or Gareth Southgate will be bothered by.
At least it is being called out in the media, though. It was just unwarranted.
