Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling react to Leeds United win v Swansea

Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling were left in disbelief as Leeds United beat Swansea 4-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking on talkSPORT (25 November, 6:47 am), McCoist gave his verdict after Stelling read out a text from a United fan who had made the journey to Swansea to watch a “crazy” game play out.

The Whites came back from behind twice to lead 3-2 in the latter stages, and although Swansea equalised with full-time nearing, Wilfried Gnonto’s winner secured a last-gasp win for Daniel Farke.

Stelling said: “Text has come in saying; ’quick one to say how the mighty Leeds are going up. Made the journey to Swansea yesterday’ – what a crazy game.”

McCoist added: “I watched the highlights Jeff – what a game that looked.

“You thought for all intents and purposes, you thought Swansea would get – well they did get an equaliser in about the 90th minute – and then Gnonto ran up the pitch and scores.”

Leeds United prove promotion credentials with Swansea City win

Many of United’s nine wins this season have been somewhat formulaic, eventually breaking down teams who sit deep and do all they can to nullify the threat of Farke’s side in the final third.

At the Swansea.com Stadium though, Leeds’ three points came the most unlikely of fashions, with the home side hitting the front at either end of the first half in a rather soft fashion.

It’s not often that the Peacocks have had to come from behind this season, but unlike their bizarre draw at Sunderland, they were able to come away with a win despite three separate setbacks in South Wales.

Manor Solomon justifying his selection with a brace could prove to be exactly what the winger needs to kick on at Elland Road, while Gnonto’s late winner rubber-stamps his credentials as United’s talisman.

Sitting top of the Championship table – on goal difference ahead of Sunderland and Sheffield United – means Farke’s side are ruling the roost for the moment, and are well capable of seeing this promotion race through.

In other Leeds news, a Whites transfer target has discussed reports linking him with a move to Elland Road this week.
