Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil gush over ‘brilliant’ Leeds United fans live on talkSPORT

Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist have gushed over the travelling Leeds United support after their FA Cup victory against Plymouth Argyle, commenting on how far they have had to travel.

The pair were speaking live on talkSPORT, stating that somebody they know had gone to the game and not got home until 5am despite only travelling to London, so the journey to Leeds would have been much longer.

McCoist described the fans as “brilliant” while Brazil shared that you find Leeds fans everywhere you go all over the country in high praise for the supporters both at Elland Road and elsewhere.

Speaking live on talkSPORT [7 February, 08:54], Brazil shared: “Travelling Leeds fans embarked on a 300+ mile trip back from Devon to West Yorkshire. They’ve got some fans, Leeds. Everywhere you go.”

McCoist then followed up: “Brilliant. I love going to Leeds as well, I must admit. Tom, as we know is a mad Leeds fan, he’s getting back at 5am and I’m guessing he’s only going to London. There’s another what, three hours up to Leeds? What time are some of the boys getting back?”

Leeds fans getting the praise they deserve

It will have been worth the journey for Leeds fans, with four goals in the game including brilliantly-taken finishes by Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville as well as those from Georginio Rutter and an own-goal from Ryan Hardie to round it off.

The travelling support could have done without the extra time though, with that journey back to Yorkshire bad enough as it was, and the later the game went on, the later they would have been returning home.

High praise both from Brazil and McCoist showed what the travelling support is all about. While a trip all the way to Plymouth would have been far from ideal, plenty made the trip and made their voices heard in that away end.

Rutter also spoke out in support of the fans following the result, speaking about how loud they were and how they always follow the club, as he confessed even when they play away from home it’s as if they are at Elland Road with the travelling support.
