Alioski raves about never-before-seen Leeds player who ‘has quality’

Ezgjan Alioski has been raving about Robbie Gotts as the youngster prepares to make his debut for Leeds United on Monday.

Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that Gotts, 20, will make his long-awaited first appearance for Leeds when the Yorkshire giants take on Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup at the Emirates.

Gotts has been an unused substitute 19 times across all competitions this season without being seen on the pitch by Leeds United fans.

However he is now set to replace Stuart Dallas in the midfield on Monday and Alioski has offered some praise to the youngster before the game.

“I wish him all the best. He has quality and I hope he arrives well,” said Alioski on Saturday, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

It is going to be a big game for Gotts on Monday because he has the opportunity to prove Bielsa wrong for overlooking him so many times this season.

Considering there have been so many injuries in the Whites’ squad – especially in the heart of the midfielder – it is crazy to think Gotts has not been handed a single appearance.

If he does well at Arsenal then that is something for Bielsa to think about ahead of the clash against Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road next weekend. If not, then it’s back to the bench.

Gotts does not have anything to lose on Monday so there is no pressure on him to put in a top performance against a Premier League club.

However it would definitely be nice to see him shine and kickstart his career as a Leeds first-team player.
