Alan Shearer stunned by Mateusz Klich footage as Leeds United smash Chelsea

Alan Shearer was left stunned by footage of Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich in the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon at Elland Road.

The Polish international came off the bench and continued the crazy pressing on show, dumping Thiago Silva to the ground after tremendous pressure late on.

Shearer was shocked at the lack of respect on show, admitting it was unbelievable to see Leeds back to their best and giving Chelsea nothing but torment all afternoon.

Speaking live on Match of the Day 2 on Sunday evening [21 August], Shearer could not believe his eyes at the pressing from Leeds and that one moment in particular.

“That’s Thiago Silva there, legend of the game,” he said.

“No respect [from Klich], go and get in and get into the tackle. The manager there is driving them forward. It was an unbeliever performance.”

Wow.

What an afternoon this was, and we still haven’t fully come down off that high.

Jesse Marsch used his bench much more effectively this week compared to last week at Southampton, and he got his rewards for that in what was a superb performance.

Having senior options on the bench such as Klich, Adam Forshaw and Luis Sinisterra is helping massively too, with the likes of Junior Firpo, Luke Ayling, Patrick Bamford and Liam Cooper also back very soon.

Klich looks as though he will be staying at Elland Road beyond this window despite conflicting reports earlier in the month, and he looks riled up each time he comes on.

We get that he may want more minutes towards the end of his career with the World Cup coming up, but more of these performances will be needed to gain starts.

The Polish international used his possible anger and got stuck into the Chelsea defence and midfield with his pressing, something that certainly caught the eye.

More of this, please.
