Alan Shearer predicts brilliant Leeds United vs Man City result, Daniel Farke to accept challenging outcome

Alan Shearer believes Manchester City will have too much for Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday.

The former Newcastle United striker feels the Whites would take a draw if offered it at Elland Road on 28 February, but Pep Guardiola’s team have been predicted to win.

Daniel Farke will surely be looking forward to the home fans putting on an exceptional atmosphere for the Sky Blues’ visit to LS11.

As things stand, the West Yorkshire outfit are six points above the relegation zone and will undoubtedly want to increase that gap going into the crunch part of the season.

Leeds United have to nullify obvious Manchester City threat to have a chance

Erling Haaland hasn’t been at his clinical best for Man City in recent weeks, but he’s still arguably the most dangerous player Leeds’ defence will have to deal with.

The Norway international has contributed a goal or an assist in each of his last four Premier League matches, with the Sky Blues currently on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

Haaland has scored 22 goals and provided seven assists in 27 league appearances for the Cityzens this season, but the Whites did manage to keep him quiet in the reverse fixture.

The West Yorkshire outfit almost pulled off an impressive comeback at the Etihad Stadium in November, but Phil Foden’s stoppage-time winner broke the hearts of the travelling supporters.

It will certainly be a different story at Elland Road, with the Peacocks boasting an impressive home record this season, but only time will tell whether Farke can get the better of Guardiola.

Writing in the Metro on 27 February, Shearer said, “It’ll be a brilliant atmosphere and City do give you chances. They were hanging on against Newcastle last weekend at home, but they are just going to have too much for them. If you said to Leeds if they would take a point, they would, but I’m not sure they will.”

West Ham United next five fixtures to provide breathing space at Elland Road

West Ham United’s mini-resurgence in recent weeks means Leeds can’t take their foot off the gas in the final months of the campaign.

A couple of fixtures going the Hammers’ way could possibly see the Whites come under immense pressure, but fans in LS11 will be confident about their prospects, considering Nuno Espirito Santo has to navigate a game against Liverpool next.

The Irons also have Man City and Aston Villa in their set of next five fixtures in the Premier League, and they will certainly be favourites to drop points in those games.

As for the West Yorkshire outfit, they face Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Manchester United after Man City, and they will be confident about increasing their gap with the relegation zone.
