Alan Pardew shares Leeds United promotion prediction in Premier League admission

Alan Pardew believes Leeds United could seal promotion from the Championship following their 4-3 win over Swansea City on Sunday.

Daniel Farke’s side were forced to come from behind on two occasions, with Wilfried Gnonto netting a dramatic winner in the first minutes of added time at the Swansea.com Stadium on 24 November.

Leeds now sit atop the Championship table after 16 matches, moving past Sunderland and Sheffield United after faltering in their own matches over the weekend, and Pardew thinks this is the year.

Speaking via talkSPORT on Sunday (24 November), he said: “What a result for Leeds because they’ve always been in and around it, but now they’re top.

“With their fanbase and the size that they’ve got, you’d like to think that this could be the year. I certainly hope so because the Premier League needs Leeds United. I’ve always thought that.”

Leeds United to win promotion back to the Premier League?

Leeds have put themselves in a brilliant place to secure promotion back to the Premier League season, though fans at Elland Road will not be getting too far ahead of themselves just yet.

Promotion was expected last season, battling the likes of Leicester City and Ipswich Town for the automatic spots, but Leeds had to settle for the play-off spots and experienced absolute heartbreak.

Of course, this campaign looks far more competitive, with the top six teams separated by just six points at this moment in time, but Farke will be confident he can achieve the club’s main target this term.

The German has been in this position before, helping Norwich City out of the Championship on two occasions and he has placed himself in the best position to do so once again.

The Whites certainly showed the character of a team aiming for promotion after the 4-3 win in Wales and those displays will be crucial until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
