Alan Pardew wowed by ‘Outstanding’ thing he has seen at Leeds United
Leeds United’s promotion push took another major dent on Saturday when the Whites were held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea City.
Daniel Farke’s men enjoyed a successful first half as Brenden Aaronson opened the scoring inside one minute, before Illan Meslier saved Josh Tymon’s penalty.
But the second half was disastrous for Leeds, who conceded an equaliser when Meslier allowed Harry Darling to score after dropping the ball.
The Whites seemingly snatched all three points when Wilfried Gnonto fired home, but Farke’s goalkeeper was at fault once more when he could not keep out Zan Vipotnik’s effort from a tight angle.

Alan Pardew says Leeds should have enough for promotion
The Whites have now won just one of their last five games and have consequently slipped to second place, but they still boast by far the most dangerous attack in the Championship.
Championship table (top three) | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
1 Sheffield Utd | 39 | 27 | 83 |
2 Leeds | 39 | 51 | 81 |
3 Burnley | 39 | 42 | 81 |
Alan Pardew was speaking to a Leeds fan on TalkSPORT on 30 March, when he said: “Amazingly, you’ve scored 78 goals this year.
“That sort of figure after 39 games is outstanding. That should get you promoted alone.”
Leeds supporters will be worried about their side’s current form
The Whites have resided inside the automatic promotion spots for the vast majority of the campaign, but Farke’s men have now hit poor form at the wrong time.
Leeds supporters will be worried that their side could now be overtaken by third-place Burnley, who are level on points with the West Yorkshire giants and on significantly better form.
Just last season, the Whites finished outside the automatic promotion spots despite earning 90 points, courtesy of the fact that they lost three of their last four games, including a 4-0 defeat at the hands of then-relegation-threatened QPR.
Farke’s men ultimately went on to lose the playoff final to Southampton, and Leeds supporters will currently be fearing the worst once again now that their side have slipped into poor form at exactly the wrong time.
Up next, the West Yorkshire club travel to Luton on 5 April, and they must be at their best to beat a side who are scrapping for their Championship status.
