Alan Pardew an option for Leeds United after fresh Javi Gracia sack news

Alan Pardew is a “possible option” for Leeds United with Javi Gracia’s future at Elland Road under serious threat, according to The Guardian.

It’s understood the board are considering sacking the Spaniard after a run of terrible form which has seen the Whites concede 18 goals in five Premier League games.

The Guardian now claim (1 May) that Pardew is an option, with former Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer also being considered.

Michael Skubala is also an option for the board after he took the reins after Jesse Marsch’s departure in February.

Crazy

If Pardew was appointed for four games, it would sum up for dire state that Leeds currently find themselves in. It would be laughable. The board are to blame for this mess. They stuck by Marsch for far too long, failed to plan for his departure and have now clearly made the wrong appointment.

Giving the job to Skubala until the end of the season would be the smartest decision. He made an impact during his tenure in February and could well find a win or two from the Whites’ last four matches.

Bowyer could also be a credible option. The former Charlton boss has a fiery reputation and he could well provide the immediate boost to steer Leeds clear of the relegation zone.

The trip to Manchester City should be written off. There’s virtually no chance of Leeds beating Pep Guardiola’s side. Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham have to be targetted, a win and a draw could well be the difference in beating the drop.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has shared a surgery update that could rule another Elland Road ace out for months.
