Alan Nixon delivers verdict on Leeds United interest in Ross Barkley
Alan Nixon claims that he has never heard of Leeds United being interested in a move for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.
In November 2021, TEAMtalk reported that Leeds were keen on signing the England international as Chelsea were pondering whether or not to offload him in January.
However, The Sun’s reliable journalist Nixon does not think that the Whites are interested in his services.
Via his personal Twitter account, he responded, “Never heard that” to a fan who asked him about their interest in the 27-year-old.
Good news
Leeds are keen on a central midfielder in January and it’s good to see that Barkley is not among those genuinely considered as an option.

The Englishman has struggled at Stamford Bridge since his move from Everton and he seems to be a shadow of his old self.
While there is a feeling that he could return to his Goodison Park form, there is a big if as to whether he would fit into Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play.
The Argentine demands an intense brand of football that requires a lot of hard work off the ball.
From what we’ve seen of Barkley so far, it’s not an indication that he will be good enough to match the physical demands of this Leeds side.
What Bielsa would ideally want is someone who’s capable of playing box-to-box as well as being technically adept in a wide range of positions.
The wait continues.
