Alan Nixon casts doubt on Leeds move for Ryan Kent

Alan Nixon has cast doubt over a major Leeds United move for Rangers winger Ryan Kent in the final two weeks of August.

Steven Gerrard may need to sell players after crashing out of the Champions League, with Marcelo Bielsa a big admirer of the attacker.

The Sun journalist, Nixon, suggested that £15million may be enough to get the deal over the line this month.

One Leeds fan questioned whether or not the Whites would try again after their Champions League disappointment.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Nixon cast doubt over a potential move to Elland Road this summer.

“It would still be in £15million range to get him,” he wrote.

“So I doubt that just now.”

Doubt.

Given the ongoing saga with Huddersfield over Lewis O’Brien, we find it highly unlikely that £15million could just be thrown at Rangers.

Phil Hay recently suggested that it could even take £20million, and only a heavily structured deal would make sense for the Whites.

Kent is being used, and Europa League football appears to be a guarantee at Ibrox again this season, meaning he may not feel the need to jump ship.

Angus Kinnear insisted that Leeds will take advantage of any deal should it fit in line with what the club want so this could still progress.

After losing a huge windfall when crashing out of the Champions League, the Glasgow side may need to sell, and if they do, send Kent our way.
