Alan Nixon: Calvin Ramsay will talk to Leeds United over major new transfer, fee could be agreed this week

Alan Nixon has shared that Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay could hold talks with Leeds United over a big summer transfer.

The Sun journalist reported that the Whites will battle Liverpool for the right-back, who was left out over the weekend.

It is shared that a fee could be agreed over the next week with Ramsay destined for the Premier League next season, should Leeds stay up.

Writing on his Patreon page yesterday [24 April, 8:11 am], Nixon shared the major update on the future of the defender.

“Aberdeen left out their young defender at the weekend and insiders believe there will be a fee agreed very soon, possibly this week,” he wrote.

“Sources close to the player expect him to be allowed to talk to both clubs to discuss their plans before taking his pick.”

Decision coming.

Could Victor Orta be making his moves already ahead of the summer window? It looks that way.

With Liverpool also sniffing though, the Whites will hope that a clearer path to the first-team at Elland Road will swing the balance in their favour.

Ramsay can play on the right and the left of defence, with the latter more likely given the success of Cody Drameh away on loan this season.

He will surely want the chance to return and push Luke Ayling on the right, with no other out-and-out option behind Junior Firpo.

With £3million expected to be enough, this would be a real bargain for one of the brightest young talents in the United Kingdom.

This is one transfer that would work in the Premier League or the Championship, but we like to think that we will be safe should we pick up three points at Crystal Palace this evening.
