Alan Brazil recalls Leeds United fan riot accusation as Ally McCoist laughs on
Alan Brazil recalled when he was reprimanded for ‘inciting a riot’ with Leeds United fans during a game with Arsenal at Highbury.
He recited the story to the amusement of Ally McCoist who could only laugh at what he was hearing, on the TalkSPORT Breakfast show on Thursday morning [11 May].
The tale came to light after a similar incident at the Bernabeu Stadium on Wednesday evening when Erling Haaland’s Dad, Alfie, was removed from a VIP hospitality area after an altercation with Real Madrid fans during the 1-1 Champions League semi-final first-leg draw with Manchester City.

As featured on talkSPORT’s Twitter account, Brazil cast his mind back to when he was caught up in a spot of bother in north London.
“True story, this,” he said.
“6000 Leeds fans came down. I wasn’t working, we’d been out for lunch then we were in the box, having a glass of wine. Lovely.
“I could hear the noise, I looked down from the balcony and this one guy, about three times the size of me looked up and started singing, ‘he’s bald, he’s fat, he talks a load of….
“Well, 6000 of them all join in, don’t they? So I was pointing down, ‘you can talk, have you no mirrors in your house?’.
“We’re having a laugh, next thing is two stewards come in and huckle me out of the box. Inciting a riot, I’m like what, I’m only having a bit of fun”
The last laugh
That was the end of the matter for Brazil, who went on to say that he was removed from the balcony and had to settle for watching the game on a screen inside the box.
Just like Haaland in Madrid, it’s mostly just a laugh with no bad intentions but it doesn’t take much for things to change in front of a crowd of opposition fans.
The Leeds fans got the last laugh in the story told to the nation on talkSPORT and the Elland Road faithful will be hoping that something of a similar nature will emerge in the next few weeks in their bid to stay in the Premier League.
Sam Allardyce is tasked with taking points from a flying Newcastle United side on Saturday, with just three games of the campaign left.
It will be a massive occasion but a fraught one with so much at stake.
