The agent of Huddersfield midfielder Lewis O'Brien has shut down rumours linking Leeds United with a move.

Kevin Sharp, who also represents Kalvin Phillips at Elland Road, has insisted that the Whites have not made contact.

Plenty of clubs are said to be interested in O'Brien though, as the race for his signature could really start to heat up.

Speaking to LUFC FANZONE via their official Twitter account over the weekend, Sharp shared the major update.

"I’m unaware of any interest from Leeds," he said.

"Many other clubs have expressed an interest in Lewis, but I’ve not heard anything from Leeds."

Unaware.

Could Leeds be waiting to strike? Or are they genuinely just looking elsewhere to solve one of their priority areas.

Alan Nixon shared the initial interest and has followed that up by claiming that O'Brien is "very near" to the top of their shortlist.

That would suggest that it is serious interest, and that contact has been made, but Sharp isn't aware of that.

Carlos Corberan will have close contacts at Elland Road too, so it would be known if contact has been made by the Whites.

The Spaniard has described O'Brien as "amazing" in the past, meaning it would surely take a hefty bid to part ways.

Signing Junior Firpo will allow Stuart Dallas to stay in midfield again, meaning that Mateusz Klich and whoever signs will be the players offering competition.

Marcelo Bielsa loves a slim squad, so there may only be space for one more midfielder, will it be O'Brien? Time will definitely tell.
