Agent of Dani Cardenas responds to Leeds interest
The agent of Levante goalkeeper Dani Cardenas has responded to links with Leeds United over the past week.
Graham Smyth shared that the Spaniard was on the shortlist to replace Kiko Casilla after he left for Elche this week.
That has led to Super Deporte reporting that Levante are plotting a new contract with a release clause of over £40million.

Speaking via LUFC FANZONE on their official Twitter account, there was an air of mystery surrounding their response.
“As reported by the YEP yesterday, Leeds are interested in young Spanish goalkeeper Dani Cardenas,” they wrote.
“His agent has told us: ‘At the moment Dani is a Levante player, and that is all I can tell you.
“We are also awaiting a reply from the agent of Kristoffer Klaesson.”
Mystery.
Cardenas is clearly rated very highly at Levante, as they wouldn’t push so hard to keep him at the club.
Putting in a suggested release clause of over £40million suggests he is irreplaceable, but he has hardly been number one during his time at the club.
That is perfect for the Whites, who are clearly wanting a new number two behind Illan Meslier for many seasons to come.
If there were nothing in these links, then surely Cardenas’ agent would have just shut them down, but all he could do was shrug them to one side.
We all know the keeper is still a Levante player, but that may be set to change before our first pre-season clash with Guiseley.
