Agbonlahor mocks Bielsa decision after Leeds defeat v West Ham

Ex-Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has taken to Twitter to mock Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa for revealing his starting line-up days before the defeat to West Ham on Friday.

In his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Bielsa told the media all 11 players that he intended to start against the Hammers.

Gary Lineker, Joey Barton and Iker Casilla all thought that Bielsa’s honesty was brilliant – but Agbonlahor thinks otherwise after seeing West Ham win 2-1 against Leeds.

The ex-Villa man said: “Does everyone think it’s still amazing and funny that Bielsa named his team three days ago live to the nation?”

Bielsa reveal had no impact on result

It’s easy to say this in hindsight.

You don’t usually see a manager reveal his entire starting line-up a few days before a game kicks off but it’s nothing new with Bielsa and not a shock at all to us Leeds fans.

He did it a few times in his debut season at the club and it didn’t really have an adverse effect on results.

The Argentine wasn’t asked to name his starting line-up or prompted in any way because journalists don’t expect it. But you can imagine that it will be asked in the coming weeks to see if he’ll do it again.

Knowing Bielsa, he probably will.

But that decision had nothing to do with the result on Friday.

Leeds were terrible and West Ham played very well.

It was a deserved defeat and let’s face it, David Moyes would not have been a Premier League manager for as long as he has if he couldn’t prepare his side to play against a number of potential Leeds starting line-ups.

In other Leeds United news, Andy Hinchcliffe blasted this “incredibly poor” player against West Ham.
