Adrian Durham rages at Patrick Bamford after ‘shocker’ for Leeds United v Leicester City live on talkSPORT
Adrian Durham was absolutely furious with Patrick Bamford for his late miss in the 1-1 draw between Leeds United and Leicester on Tuesday night (25 April).
The Whites could only earn a point at Elland Road despite taking the lead through Luis Sinisterra, and Bamford missed an absolute sitter from three yards out that would have surely been the match-winner with minutes to go.
And after Ally McCoist admitted to feeling sorry for Bamford while live on talkSPORT (26 April), journalist Durham was quick to point the finger and claim that it could end up costing Leeds their spot in the Premier League.
“It was a shocker,” he said.
“I think the whole ground just kind of stopped, as if to say ‘did that really happen?’ I think Patrick Bamford was hoping a flag would go up just to save him a little bit.
“You say you feel for him but come on. This is a professional footballer, he’s a striker. He has to convert that chance.
“It was a shocker from Bamford and it could cost Leeds, because I think both sides needed to win last night and neither did so neither were happy I don’t think.”
Hate to say it..
We all love Bamford for what he has done while at this club over the years, but Durham is right about this one. He has to score.

He’s on his own at the back post, has plenty of time to react to the ball dropping on his right foot and has the vast majority of the goal to aim at. Anyone playing at Premier League level has to score that chance, and if you gave him the opportunity again he probably would.
But those two points that we now don’t have on the board could be absolutely vital come the end of the season considering the fixtures we have left compared to our rivals.
Everyone has been calling for a new striker to come in that can be relied upon to hit the net because Bamford isn’t that guy, and we have just found out the hard way that we were right.
In other Leeds news, Michael Owen and Jermaine Beckford were baffled by Javi Gracia live on BT Sport.
