Adrian Durham: Kalvin Phillips should be dropped for England v Denmark

Adrian Durham has ridiculously suggested that England should drop Leeds United star, Kalvin Phillips, in EUROs semi-final against Denmark.

The Yorkshire Pirlo has started every single game in the tournament, with Gareth Southgate a huge fan.

After being replaced early against Ukraine over the weekend, Phillips will be available against the Danes after a yellow-card worry.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Durham insisted that Phillips should be dropped regardless of him being available at Wembley.

“I’m dropping Kalvin Phillips,” he said.

“Mount has earned that right, he played so well, he’s so disciplined tactically, that it is impossible to ignore him.

“I’m a massive Kalvin Phillips fan, and he’s nothing wrong, but that’s the point, it’s a squad game.”

Here we go.

What a joke this is, how is this even a suggestion.

Phillips has been sensational, and even better than Declan Rice alongside him in midfield, never mind Mount.

Southgate is a huge fan of the Leeds man, though, and we expect him to start him and ignore this rubbish from Durham, who has been living it up in Italy during the tournament.

As often is the case, the most controversial opinions get the most views, and there is no chance of England reverting to a 3-4-3 formation after winning convincingly against Ukraine.

Southgate used four-at-the-back, and he is likely to do the same again tomorrow and to do that, Phillips is critical for the Three Lions.

We can’t wait to see one of our own shining in the heart of the side at Wembley, with the chance to reach our first major final in over 50 years.
