Adrian Durham clashes with Leeds fans as Premier League prediction gets torn apart
Adrian Durham has hit back at Leeds United fans after they poked fun at his early-season claim that the Whites would be relegated from the Premier League.
Durham, regular host of talkSPORT’s Drive show, made a bold prediction at the start of the season when he backed Leeds to drop straight back down to the Championship [talkSPORT Twitter].
He also predicted Marcelo Bielsa to leave the club but El Loco and his charges have made a mockery of his claims as they reside in the top 10 with seven games remaining.
After the Whites shocked runaway league leaders Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday, Leeds fans flocked to September’s tweet in their droves to laugh in unison at Durham.
One fan replied, “That got old quickly!”
Durham responded via his personal Twitter account: “Usually fans of small clubs who do this sort of stuff. Surprised at Leeds fans to be honest.”

He wasn’t done there, as he laid into a Leeds fan who took umbrage with his ‘small clubs’ comment.
Durham tweeted: “At what point have I ever said Leeds are a small club? Pathetic comment. I got two out of 3 relegation predictions correct which is good. Crying or laughing about a prediction is so childish.”

Take your medicine
Durham’s been exposed and he doesn’t like it.
He went big on his claims in September and now that Leeds have torn apart his prediction he’s refused to back down and apologise.
Of course an apology doesn’t mean much, and it isn’t something many Whites fans will care for as we hurtle towards the Premier League finish line with a top 10 finish in our sights, but it shows the cowardly nature of some media personalities out there.
It was a really strange call from Durham anyway and one we think was done purely out of spite and to gain online traction, something he was become famed for.
Did he really believe Bielsa and Leeds would slip away to the lower echelons of the league?
He took aim at the club’s recruitment but he has been roundly proved wrong with Raphinha the pick of the bunch as he has taken the Premier League by storm.
Durham just needs to take his medicine and educate himself before he makes another fool of himself in next year’s predictions, although to be fair he has been converted into a big fan himself through this thrilling season.
