Adam Pope predicts if Leeds United will make January transfer to solve problem

Adam Pope doesn’t think Leeds United will be “shelling out big money” to bring in a new number 10 during the January transfer window.

At the moment, the Whites only have Brenden Aaronson as a natural number 10 within their ranks and, of late, his recent performances haven’t been the best.

Speaking on the Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet Podcast (2 December), Pope shared his thoughts on how Leeds’ transfer window is going to pan out.

“Are we expecting there to be a purchase in that area (number 10) in the transfer window? Well he [Farke] said last week didn’t he in the pre-match press conference ‘expect it to be a quiet window’,” he said.

“So I’m not sure Leeds are going to be shelling out big money on a number 10.”

Leeds United should try Largie Ramazani in their number 10 role

From the performances of Brenden Aaronson in some of his recent games for Leeds, it’s clear that he’s been well off the pace of late.

Initially, the United States international found himself on something of a redemption arc at Elland Road with the attacking midfielder seeming to emerge as one of Daniel Farke’s most important players at the start of the season, now, however, things are far different.

The Whites’ attack is one of the strongest in the second tier and while they have plenty of depth on the flanks, the fact that Farke only has Aaronson who’s a natural attacking midfielder is a cause for concern.

Due to the abundance of talent Leeds have on their flanks, it would be nice to see the German give Willy Gnonto or Largie Ramazani a run in the centre to see if it helps turn the West Yorkshire outfit’s attacking fortunes around.

These are all ifs, buts and maybes of course but if the Whites want to gain promotion to the Premier League, things are going to have to start changing soon.
