Adam Forshaw grimaces in pain as Leeds United footage emerges this week

Leeds United have released more training footage this week on Thursday 13 October as they prepare for the Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Adam Forshaw, Stuart Dallas, Archie Gray and Junior Firpo were all pictured returning to the gym as they step up their rehabilitation from injuries.

Jesse Marsch then had the squad on the grass with Luis Sinisterra finally returning to action after his one-match suspension against Crystal Palace.

It doesn’t look as though many if any of that four will return this weekend.

Dallas is obviously out long-term, but signs didn’t look much better for Forshaw as he worked with Rob Price in the gym room on some leg stretches.

In the video shared on Leeds’ official YouTube channel, Forshaw was seen grimacing in pain and shaking his head as the stretch progressed on the medical bench.

Not looking good.

It’s looking as though another few weeks will be needed before Forshaw returns to his best self.

Marsch confirmed in his recent press conference that the midfielder had undergone surgery yet again, this time on a hernia issue and may not be back until November.

This is not a huge issue given we don’t have the same midfield issues that we have had in years gone by, but having him available would help depth massively.

Marc Roca and Tyler Adams have both shined so far this season, with our issues away from midfield, but the longer these issues go on, the quicker we may need to make a new signing in that area.

Forshaw is not proving himself reliable enough to get another contract right now, and much will depend on this recovery and if he can make an impact in the second-half of the season, maybe even after the World Cup.

In other Leeds United news, this player could be first in the Elland Road boardroom as new contract talks may take centre stage
