Adam Forshaw could be out until August after major Leeds United injury blow - report
Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw could be out of action until August after his latest major injury blow.
That’s according to The Guardian, which shared the update after the mainstay fractured his kneecap in training this week.
Tyler Roberts is also expected to be out of action until August, although Patrick Bamford could return next month in May.
This is a big blow to Forshaw.
After finally getting over his injury hell with the hip problem that kept him out for two years, he can’t seem to catch a break.
Thankfully, he still managed to make a big impact this season and secure a new contract until the end of next season.
It will mean that he can return and still make a big difference next season without having to worry about his immediate future during this break.
One in, one out.
Jesse Marsch did confirm that Kalvin Phillips will start at Crystal Palace on Monday evening, in a huge boost that counters this.
If the Yorkshire Pirlo also wasn’t at 100%, our midfield would have been looking seriously lacking at Selhurst Park.
Phillips and Forshaw are likely our strongest midfield pairing based on this season, and now it is down to who will take that second spot.
Robin Koch has played there frequently, and Mateusz Klich has been effective since Marsch arrived at Elland Road.
Hopefully, Forshaw can be back for the first day of pre-season, which would be much earlier than August.
With a full pre-season under his belt, Forshaw will be coming back at 100% and ready to show that he can complete a full season at Elland Road.
Bring it on, no one deserves it more than Forshaw for what he has had to go through in recent years in West Yorkshire.
