'Absurd we can't find a place for him' – Some Leeds fans wowed by U23 who was 'unreal' v Bolton
Leeds United Under-23s showed what you do when you go 3-0 up, against Bolton Under-23s on Monday night.
Three up at half-time, it was a case of deja vu when Bolton got one back in the second half. However, further goals from Eddie Nketiah and Robbie Gotts made it a great night for Carlos Corberan’s youngsters at Leyland.
Our man of the match was Jack Clarke. He rolled back the years to put in a performance that reminded us why we were so excited about him when he burst into the first team.
It was his best display of the season, although admittedly against a very poor Bolton side.
However, that will give Clarke confidence and remind him what he can do when he’s at his marauding best.
Clarke tormented the Bolton players all night, got himself on the scoresheet and set up Nektiah for one of his goals.
It didn’t go unnoticed by Leeds fans, with one saying it’s “absurd” that he’s not getting in the first team.
Marcelo Bielsa wants Clarke to stay but it might be out of his hands, with Tottenham rumoured to be readying a recall in January.
We’d love to see Clarke come off the bench on Saturday against Fulham – perhaps his last chance to prove that he deserves more minutes in White before he goes back.
But, if he does go back without playing any more for us, last night was a great reminder of what he was.
And many Leeds fans lined up to salute him…
Hows Clarke not getting mins

You see 1-5 two more goals from Gotts and Eddie,
Jack Clarke MOM it’s fine #Lufc 😀— Martin Threadgold (@FredgoldMartin) December 16, 2019
Far too good from #LUFC 23s tonight. So many good performances but Jack Clarke had an absolute field day. What a display from him! Enjoyed that with @ben_parker19! Back on Friday for more against Notts Forest #LUTV

It’s faintly absurd that we can’t find a place for Jack Clarke. Obviously he’s still a young & mercurial talent but his ability to create something from nothing is sometimes invaluable. Whoever ends up playing him regularly will have a right player on their hands. #lufc

For me, still probably the biggest talent coming out of the academy in a decade.
Sad to see him rot on the bench. He deserves to be a starting player, wherever that may be.— Anders (@BenBuford11) December 16, 2019
If we'd seen this Jack Ckarke earlier in the season he'd have had a far greater presence.
We've not unfortunately.
That said, this is against a very poor Bolton so it has to be taken in context.
Good performance though.
