Abrahams raves about 'terrific' Leeds player and warns £45m+ investment needed in summer for PL
TalkSPORT broadcaster Ian Abrahams has warned Leeds United that they need to invest at least £45million in their squad in the summer transfer window to be ready for the Premier League.
As it stands, the Yorkshire giants are top of the Championship table and nine points clear of third-placed Brentford.
It seems very likely that Marcelo Bielsa will lead the Whites back to the Premier League and their performance against Arsenal on Monday night proved just how good this team actually is.
However Abrahams is not convinced that the current Leeds squad would be able to cope with the top-flight.
He claims that there’s no way loan star Ben White will be allowed to stay at Elland Road by parent club Brighton and that a top goalscorer is needed.
“Ben White at the back is a really good player. He’s on loan from Brighton. There is no way that Brighton are going to let Ben White go,” said Abrahams, as shown via talkSPORT’s official Twitter account.
“I would absolutely be staggered if they sold him.
“Kalvin Phillips is a terrific player as well but they do need a goalscorer.
“They’re going to have to invest quite heavily [if they get promoted].
“I mean, look at Sheffield United. They invested £40-45million and I think Leeds are going to have to spend that money, if not more. Their squad is not big.”
👎 “I don’t think Leeds are a Wolves or Sheffield United.”
💷 “They’ll have to invest heavily.”

We are getting into that dangerous territory now where fans and pundits are starting to talk about Leeds being in the Premier League next season as if it’s a foregone conclusion.
Leeds fans need to remain grounded at the moment because although they sit top of the table, we all know what happened last season and how there is always a collapse on the cards.
Until there is a letter ‘P’ next to Leeds’ name in the Championship table, there is still a chance this could all go horribly wrong so we cannot start thinking about the summer transfer window and plans for the top-flight just yet.
