Aaronson wows BBC journalist in ‘scintillating’ Leeds United v Oxford verdict
Jonny Buchan was left wowed by the performance Brenden Aaronson put in for Leeds United in their 4-0 Championship victory over Oxford United on Saturday.
The United States international was involved in two of the four goals that the Whites scored against the U’s with the former RB Salzburg ace bagging a goal for himself.
The West Yorkshire outfit are still second in the Championship table as they sit just three points adrift of the top spot but they’re still more than on the heels of Chris Wilder’s men as we enter the second half of the season.
Speaking on the West Yorkshire Sport Daily Show (21 December), BBC journalist Buchan shared his thoughts on the performance of the attacking midfielder.
“Today he [Brenden Aaronson] was at his best, he still missed a couple of chances early on in the first half but second half, he was scintillating at times,” he said.
Brenden Aaronson is starting to get Leeds United fans back on his side
After Farke failed to bring in another attacking midfielder during the summer transfer window, Aaronson is the Whites’ only natural number 10 within their ranks which has made him a key cog in the German’s set-up this term.
However, apart from a few odd spells of form here and there, it’s felt like the American has been an area of the Whites’ squad that has let the team down due to his erratic performances.

With the January transfer window now just around the corner, most Leeds fans likely expected a new number 10 to be on top of their priority list but, because Aaronson is now getting back to his best, a move of that nature now seems less likely despite their recent resurgence of interest in Emi Buendia.
As long as the US international keeps up the level of form he’s shown over his last two games, fans will no doubt start to get back on his side and perhaps motivate him to do even better than what he has recently which, in the long-run, could be the best thing for the Elland Road outfit.
