Aaronson slammed after what he did in Leeds United win v Coventry
Brenden Aaronson has been slammed by Beren Cross after he managed to fluff multiple “glorious” opportunities for Leeds United in their win against Coventry.
The attacking midfielder has been a mainstay in Daniel Farke’s team this season due to the American being the only natural number 10 among the West Yorkshire outfit’s ranks.
Despite the Whites managing to beat Frank Lampard’s men and ending the game with an extra three points to add to their tally, Athletic journalist Cross slammed the US international for his performance.
“Aaronson’s been presented with two glorious two-vs-ones in the last three minutes and fluffed both of his passes,” he wrote via his personal X account (5 February).
“Could have ended this by now.”
Leeds United need to bring in another number 10
While Aaronson has done a fairly decent job at holding down the attacking midfield spot this season, there have been times when his form has left fans scratching their heads.
There have been times when the American has shown his class and proven his worth to the West Yorkshire outfit but more often than not this season, he’s let his team down.
Granted, that could be down to the fact that he’s played in almost every Leeds game this season as the playmaker for the squad but he still should be able to perform to a higher standard.

Throughout both the summer and winter transfer windows, Leeds have been linked with numerous number 10s with Emi Buendia’s name the one often cropping up.
In the end, the Argentine ended up moving to Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season but if the Whites earn promotion to the Premier League, they could be included in the race for his transfer once again which would really set a precedent for their first season back in the top flight.
In other Leeds news, Graham Smyth has mooted one Whites ace to have a “second wind” from now until the end of the season.
