Aaron Ramsey links to Leeds United fleshed out by reliable journalist
Leeds United fans have received a crucial update on their reported in interest in Juventus’ wantaway midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The Welsh international has long wanted to leave Turin and he is keen on returning to England but according to the Mirror’s David Anderson, he won’t be coming to Elland Road.
The 31-year-old could have provided useful options for Marcelo Bielsa but with the deal now off, the Whites need to look elsewhere
Anderson Tweeted: “Aaron Ramsey is being touted around the Premier League because Allegri no longer wants him at Juventus, but, from what I understand, there is no chance of the Wales midfielder coming to Leeds.”
Italian media outlet Calciomercato reported last month that Leeds are keen on Ramsey.
A missed opportunity
Leeds may come to regret not trying harder to pursue Ramsey who could well join a Premier League rival this month on loan.
Whether he can keep up with Bielsa’s maximum intensity tactics week after week is, and will remain, an unknown but he does possess something his other midfielders lack.
The former Arsenal man has a keen eye for goal and his clinical attitude in front of goal is something not emulated by any of the current Whites midfield.
You could maybe attribute that to Stuart Dallas or Mateusz Klich but neither has been overly prolific for Leeds.
Ramsey would have been a key addition which would take some of the pressure off the likes of Raphinha and Patrick Bamford to score all the goals.
Now though, Bielsa has to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements and he has been actively looking already this transfer window.
Whoever comes to Elland Road needs to hit the ground running as the club can’t afford a slow couple of months with relegation a real possibility.
In other Leeds United news, a key player could return in the FA Cup as we predict the Whites’ XI.
