Leeds '100%' complete Junior Firpo deal - Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has insisted that the deal for Junior Firpo to Leeds United has been “100% completed.”

The Barcelona left-back has seen his switch to Elland Road move quickly, with others suggesting his medical is this weekend.

Romano insisted that nothing will stop him from arriving in West Yorkshire, and even checked his phone for the announcement he was that confident.

Speaking on his new show on Twitch last night, Romano delivered the significant update that will leave fans buzzing.

“Junior Firpo is joining Leeds, 100% confirmed,” he said.

“£12.9m euros with add-ons plus to Barcelona, he will be one of the first players to leave Barcelona this summer.

“I’ll check my phone, but there’s still nothing.”

Victor Orta has certainly worked his magic alongside Marcelo Bielsa.

Ezgjan Alioski left the club this week after his contract expired yesterday, and he will be made a distant memory by this new signing.

Firpo signed for Barcelona two years ago, and they actually paid more than double what the Whites will be forking out for his services this week.

After only starting three La Liga games last season, there could be some rustiness, but he should have a full pre-season behind him.

It will be a huge start for him too, with the first trip of course that clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford, there’s no time to settle.

We will find out very quickly whether he is cut out for the Whites, with one of our biggest games of the season on the opening day; something he will surely relish.
